The GlobalM network was used for transmissions from 2 cameras on motorbikes, 1 GlobalM app (iOS), and 1 drone throughout the course of the race.
With patchy 4G network coverage on some of the mountain peaks along the course, SRT really helped to keep the live coverage coming back to Verbier, where the broadcast operations center was set up, as well as the end-of-race festivities.
A return transmission was also fed to Geneva so that it could be streamed to various different platforms.
GlobalM worked in partnership with MSO media and Actua.
European Film Awards
(2020)
On the 12th of December 2020, GlobalM provided more than 40 live SRT caller links using the GlobalM App for the European Film Awards. Continuous broadcast quality streaming of all the participants was displayed on two large LED displays in the studio based in the Futurium Berlin.
The restrictions of COVID-19 called for a remote production setup that allowed all individual streams to be available within the production environment to be switched individually. This is not possible with video conferencing or social media applications.
The production output was also streamed via the GlobalM network to rights holders with SRT.
GlobalM worked in partnership with the European Film Academy, B28 Productions, MCI Hamburg and Studio Berlin.
